ABLE Tech open house slated
STILLWATER, Okla. – Work safer, not harder, a course of action that is more than possible with the help of Oklahoma ABLE Tech.
The Oklahoma ABLE Tech Assistive Technology Program is hosting an open house featuring worksite and farm accommodations. This open house is slated Feb. 8 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m in the Seretean Wellness Center Lecture Hall at Oklahoma State University.
“The event will showcase a variety of devices that can assist with better workstation ergonomics, industrial tools, pagers, reminders, access ramps and other accommodations,” said Sherril York, Oklahoma ABLE Tech training/outreach specialist. “In addition, there will be an assortment of farm related tools, such as gate openers and gauges, on display.”
Oklahoma ABLE Tech, OSU Cooperative Extension Service and the Langston University Center for Outreach Programs partnered to provide AgrAbility services to more than 60 families, train more than 100 health care professionals and reach more than 6,000 people through outreach programs during the last year.
York said this open house is a great opportunity for those needing assistance to see how they can improve their daily work environment.
Oklahoma ABLE Tech is funded under the Assistive Technology Act of 2004, which ensures that individuals with disabilities have access to the technology they need to help them be independent in school, home, the workplace and in the community.
