VT 90 - Oklahoma Community Youth
Effort Training*
This tape provides an introduction to a new 4-H program
called Oklahoma Community Youth Effort, OCYE. The program is designed for young
people and an adult volunteer to choose a project that will help the community
then implement it. The tape goes through the Blueprint for Action plan groups
should follow using one OCYE group already in action.
VT 99 – Judging
Market Steers 1988
This tape will help young people learn what to look for when
judging market steers and how to analyze differences between animals. Part 1
uses pairs of example steers to show how to evaluate four major traits. Part 2
shows a class of steers for students to practice judging.
VT 100 - 4-H
Horticulture Identification* 1988
The purpose of this video tape is to provide 4-H volunteer
leaders and 4-H agents with a readily accessible visual aid for teaching I.D.
of horticultural crops. The nine-part video is keyed to the 4-H Horticulture
Identification Card used in 4-H contests; it is directed toward contest
participants but can also be effectively used as a general interest plant I.D.

VT 105 - 4-H Meats
Identification* 1988
This tape is divided into five parts. Fred Ray, PhD, OSU
Cooperative Extension Food Animal Specialist, hosts all five parts. Part 1, The
Basics, covers how to identify meat cuts by color, bone structure and muscular
structure and Ray discusses cookery methods in relationship to particular cuts.
Parts 2, 3, 4 feature Ray showing various retail cuts from a beef, pork and
lamb carcass respectively. Part 5 features 32 cuts of meat for students to

4-H Parent! 1988
This promotional tape is designed to educate parents about
the 4-H program, what their child will gain from 4-H and how they as parents
can get involved. Ideal for county 4-H agents to use with new parents at the
beginning of a 4-H year. Developed as part of a Salute to Excellence grant.
VT 203 – Keys to
Giving Oral Livestock Judging Reasons 1988
This video gives information on how to give reasons in the
area of accuracy, length, note taking, organization, presentation, and
terminology. It also features five sets of reasons given by livestock judging
contestants and an evaluation of each by OSU’s Livestock Judging Coach Jarold
Callahan.

judging market lambs and how to analyze differences between animals. Part 1
uses pairs and trios of example lambs to show how to evaluate three major

Ag in the Classroom 1990
This is an introduction and how-to guide for the “Ag in the
Classroom” program. The program is designed to integrate agriculture-related
issues with regular classroom subjects. The tape shows the need for
agricultural education, how the program is used, and a demonstration of a
lesson.

Horse Judging: Western Riding II 1990
This video shows practice or sample classes in horse

This video shows the steps involved for safe application of

Beyond: A Question of Ethics 1995
This is a sequel to VT 484, “A Question of Ethics” which addressed
the issue of unethical activity associated with the Junior Livestock Program.

Oral Reason Skills for Youth Competitive Horse Judging Programs 1997
This tape presents a discussion on the basis for oral

coaching or assisting youth with a horse judging interest. However, because of
similarity in livestock and horse reasons, it will also be of benefit to those
